Organizaciones de derechos humanos lanzan Cooperativa de Libertad Tecnológica para proteger datos sensibles y construir una infraestructura independiente de IA 

Una coalición de organizaciones de derechos humanos, justicia y datos lanzó hoy la Cooperativa de Libertad Tecnológica , una nueva alianza  que busca ayudar a organizaciones sin fines de lucro a proteger evidencia crucial, reducir su dependencia de las grandes corporaciones de tecnología y desarrollar capacidades independientes para trabajar con modelos de lenguaje a gran escala.  La Cooperativa de Libertad Tecnológica o Technology Freedom Cooperative está integrada por Human Rights Data Analysis Group (HRDAG), Invisible Institute, Innocence & Justice Louisiana, Data Cívica y Kilómetro Cero.

Human Rights Organizations Launch Technology Freedom Cooperative to Protect Critical Data and Build Independent AI Infrastructure

A coalition of human rights, justice, and data organizations today launched the Technology Freedom Cooperative, a new project designed to help non-profit organizations protect critical evidence, reduce dependence on big tech platforms, and build independent capacity to work with large language models.

The Technology Freedom Cooperative brings together the Human Rights Data Analysis Group (HRDAG), Invisible Institute, Innocence & Justice Louisiana, Data Cívica, and Kilómetro Cero. With support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the cooperative will provide distributed data backup systems and local AI infrastructure for organizations working to document human rights violations, state violence, wrongful convictions, and other abuses of power.

Vivimos tiempos de terror. Tiempos en que el gobierno de Estados Unidos, por vía de las políticas de su presidente, Donald Trump, impone miedo, incertidumbre, autoritarismo, castigo e intimidación. Imponer el terror a la ciudadanía por vía de políticas que violentan los derechos fundamentales es una forma extrema de violencia de estado.

We live in times of terror — times in which the government of the United States, through the policies of its president, Donald Trump, imposes fear, authoritarianism, uncertainty, punishment, and intimidation. Imposing terror on the people through policies that violate fundamental rights is an extreme form of state violence.
